Opel Zafira Seems to be Ready for Production

Opel Zafira Seems to be Ready for Production

Opel Zafira Seems to be Ready for Production

Now, the picture that you see above is totally not a hologram. The spy photographers from Autoblog have recently caught this Opel Zafira out in the crowd although it still has some camouflage on its body. Vauxhall has previously hinted this version of Zafira with their Tourer Concept, and the production version of this car will hit the showrooms in the first half of 2012.

This car which is able to bring 7 passengers in it has a turbocharged 1.4 liter four cylinder engine as its powertrain. For the interior, the Opel Zafira will provide you with a reconfigurable seating in order to give you some spaces for your comfort. It means that five people can run for a journey, but seven can also shuttled around.

Although as I said before that the camouflage still covering its body, you can still see the bottom half of the stylish boomerang headlight as the eye. But overall, you can see that the package of this European car seems to stay with the concept that they shown at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. As it seems that the production version has appeared, I expect that the camouflage will soon removed.

Lotus Fail to Secure Local Government Money

Lotus Fail to Secure Local Government Money

While at last year’s Paris Motor Show Lotus was showing off some of their new concept vehicles, that was actually pretty surprising. It is not about the advanced technology, but because most of the designs won’t be able to make it to production. Even the new Elan or Esprit would costs a very huge amount of money that Lotus doesn’t have.

Auto Express said that the English Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills (BIS) has turned down the latest application from Lotus for £27.5 million. They were reportedly want the money to build another plant at Hethel Norfolk which will produce some new models and also employing 1,200 English man. BIS rejected the Lotus’ application because they have approved £450 million for the other automakers like GM and Jaguar.

Of course, Lotus was disappointed with the BIS’ decision to turned down the loan, but Team Lotus is reportedly will come back with a fight. We can see it with a statement from Lotus which said that the automaker will explore any possible options. They also said that they will submit an update bid for the RGF (government loan), which will close on July 1.
